Greetings from TMA

Welcome to another year of supporting our students' musical endeavors! This year promises to be an action packed year starting with Marching Band Camp, August 16 – 22. We will witness our children participating with their “musical family” in musical events such as football games for our Marching Band, School Concerts, Large Group Ensembles, All State for some of our musicians and Graduation Orchestra. Some of our students will participate in the spring musical, Chicago, as well!

As always, we need lots of parental support. We will be listing volunteer opportunities at the first TMA meeting which is 9/8/2010 at 7:00 at the PAC. Every other year, the Timberlane music students are offered the opportunity to go on a group trip. This being a trip year, we are not yet sure of where the trip will be or when, but we will let you know as soon as we know! Fund raising opportunities for your student to earn money toward the trip are the annual Raffle Calendar sale and our annual Freshwater Farms Wreath Sale.

If you are new to TMA, or curious about joining, we meet the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 7:00 pm at the PAC. TMA is an organization consisting of parents of music/performing arts students as well as other volunteers who want to get involved in supporting the musical education of their children. It's sort of like the “Boosters” of the Timberlane Performing Arts Department! TMA also provides a terrific opportunity to meet and have fun with other like-minded adults. We really do have lots of fun!

Please join us at our first TMA meeting, September 8, 2010. I am looking forward to seeing lots of faces (new and old) at the meeting!
